Brief Definition
Individuals situated outside of Canada, whether Canadian citizens or non-Canadian citizens, can get an RCMP-certified criminal background check done with our international fingerprinting services.
If you live outside of Canada and have been asked by your local authority to submit a Certified Criminal Record, Notarizers can help you get the RCMP certificate swiftly. Please take your fingerprints in Ink and Roll and send it to us along with the requirements below.
We can then digitize your fingerprints and send them to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for processing. After successfully validating your fingerprints, you will receive a certificate from RCMP regarding your criminal background check.
Parties Involved

Documents Acceptable for Identification
For the fingerprinting process, two pieces of government-issued IDs are necessary for submission with the international set of fingerprints. The documents must clearly bear the applicant’s name, date of birth, and signature. Please note that at least one piece of document must contain the applicant’s photograph and the IDs must be valid (non-expired).
Examples of the documents acceptable for the procedure are:
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- Birth certificate
- Permanent resident card
- Certificate of Indian status
- Canadian Citizenship card
- Immigration documents such as landing papers
What is the Process?
The process to get your certified criminal record from the RCMP is straightforward and secure with the help of Notarizers. It consists of the following steps:
- Go to your nearest police station or fingerprinting agency and get your fingerprints taken.
- Fill up the international fingerprinting form and send it with the set of fingerprints and certified photocopies of two pieces of government-issued IDs.
- Courier or mail your documents to: FingerPrinter, 94 Via Bagnato, Toronto, Ontario M6A 2S1, Canada, Attention: Foreign Fingerprint Section.
- We will digitize the paper fingerprints using our advanced equipment and then send the application securely to the RCMP’s Canadian Criminal Real Time Information System (CCRTIS).
- CCRTIS will compare your digitized fingerprints with those already present in its criminal record database. After that, the applicant or the third party will be sent the Certified Criminal Record Check certificate issued in favor of the applicant.
